About Me
Hello, name's Jeffrey Chen and I like to do art stuff and games. I dabble in both 2d and 3d focusing more on the character side of the field. I have done 2d illustrations, pixel art, 3d modeling and animation. I have graduated from California State University Monterey Bay for game design and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Design. I speak English fluently and speak and understand some Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese. Don't quote me on this though.
Communication & Design
Creating games requires a lot of communication when working on a team of any size, much harder if it's with someone who isn't familiar with your field. Even when working alone, you need to communicate clearly with your future yourself. Creating a clear document for ideas and importance is essential to steady development. Knowing what information to present and being able to do so in a easy to read format will lead to less confusion and productive discussions. Ideas are easy to communicate but hard to understand, and making it so a child can understand is a goal to strive for.

Designing for Gamers
Game designers often when creating forget that the average gamer is clueless and needs to be led by the hand. The infamous "gamers never look up" rings true for but many situations. The most famous examples I can think of was during Portal 2 and Half Life 2 play testing; where players often never looked up or broke the game in ways developers never imagined. Being an avid gamer of many genres as well knowledge in others, I can present your ideas through the lens of a gamer, from average to hardcore. I can break your game in the conceptualizing phase before production even starts.
